Tom of Finland's real name is Touko - because he was born May 8, 1920 on the
south coast of Finland, and “May” in Finnish is "Toukokuu".
Tom has been noted as one of the five most influential artists of the twentieth
century.
As an artist he was superb, but as an influence he was transcendent.
- Harvey S. Shipley Miller, Trustee
The Judith Rothschild Foundation
