SUPERM is a New York-based multimedia art duo founded by the Russian-American artist and writer Slava Mogutin, and the American artist and musician Brian Kenny. Having joined their forces in 2004, the artists emerged from completely different backgrounds. Siberian-born Mogutin was exiled from Russia for his Queer writings and activism and became the first Russian to be granted political asylum in the US on the grounds of homophobic persecution. Kenny was born on the American military base in Heidelberg, Germany, trained as a competitive gymnast, and studied opera at Oberlin Conservatory.

SUPERM's work has been exhibited in the US, Canada, Russia, Israel, and across Europe. Curated by Ruben Esparza in conjunction with Queer Biennial I / LA + NY and Parts in Between. This is the first Queer Biennial anchored in Los Angeles, New York, Mexico and Paris.
