Blurring the classifications of documentary, erotic portraiture, and pornography

Berlin-based filmmaker and photographer Matt Lambert has become known for his art house approach to erotic film. In his fast-paced style, he merges filth, fun, and sexual fantasy with a dynamism rarely seen in the porn production industry.

Matt Lambert is continuing his exploration into the softer side of pornography with his new zine and film project with the iconic queer Tom of Finland and MEN.com, Pleasure Park. Set at the Echo Park TOM House, the zine offers a documentary look at a group of friends and adult performers, and features a performance by Taco Guillen and Latinix members of the East LA underground punk and drag party, Club Scum.

“I love how Tom of Finland’s work kind of charted a map of the gay archetypes, it’s almost very primal and biblical, like a zodiac chart or even tarot cards: the cop, the biker, the sailor, the athlete, the pretty boy, the leather daddy… It’s always wonderful when someone suddenly gives you this, like a new pair of eyeglasses which changes your vision, makes you see things that were right under your nose all this time.” -JBG, 2019
