Emerging Erotic Artist Contest – Closing Date 11/30 – Please Pass On

SUBMISSIONS DEADLINE for TOM OF FINLAND FOUNDATION’S 2009 EMERGING EROTIC ARTIST CONTEST HAS BEEN EXTENDED.

Tom of Finland Foundation (ToFF) completed its 14th Annual West Hollywood – Los Angeles Erotic Art Fair Weekend (WHLA EAFW) in March. It was a resounding success. There were 60 artists (a full house!), over 800 patrons attending and over $35,000 of artwork was sold.

TOM’s work is currently hanging in New York at The Museum of Modern Art and in Italy as part of the 53rd Venice Biennale. TASCHEN’s Tom of Finland XXL book is selling all over the world. The opening of a major solo exhibition of TOM’s in Berlin saw a large number of important figures from the contemporary art scene.

The business of erotic art is alive and well.

ToFF is now focusing on its Emerging Erotic Artist Contest (EEAC). In order for more artists to have an opportunity to participate in this singular competition the closing date for submissions has been extended to November 30, 2009.

The EEAC nurtures developing artists as they come forward into the public eye. The Grand Prize is an original work by Tom of Finland – and that alone may be reason enough to inspire artists to enter!

The winners of the EEAC will be announced on January 1, 2010 and their work will be exhibited at the next WHLA EAFW in 2010.

Information on the Contest can be found on the Foundation’s website.
