STASIU (American, 1962- ), “Chained Submission”, 2012, Linocut, 2/25, 10.50″ x 7.50″, Gift from artist
As Tom had established worldwide recognition as the master of homo-erotic art,
the Foundation’s original purpose was to preserve his vast catalog of work.
Several years later the scope was widened to offer a safe haven for all erotic art
in response to rampant discrimination against art
that portrayed sexual behavior or generated a sexual response.
Today the Foundation continues in its efforts of educating the public
as to the cultural merits of erotic art and in promoting healthier,
more tolerant attitudes about sexuality.
Tom of Finland Foundation thanks the artist for this contribution.

Exhibiting the Works of John Palatinus
Palatinus was noted for his use of light and shadow
to highlight the topography of the male physique.
John Palatinus is one of the pioneering early physique photographers of the 1950s. Along with Lon of New York, Bruce of Los Angeles, and Bob Mizer of Athletic Model Guild he helped create a whole new genre of male photography.
John Palatinus now lives in Palm Springs, California and may be one of the last living photographers from the 1950’s golden era of physique photography.
