More than two decades ago, artist Philip Hitchcock left Saint Louis for Los Angeles. Now, after forging a red-hot career both in television and as a gallery artist, he’s moved back to the city.

The exhibit features more than a dozen life-size sculptures created from molded impressions of live models. For the curious, Hitchcock promises to demonstrate his amazing technique using a live, bare fleshed model. A silent auction of one of Hitchcock’s works will benefit The Victory Fund.

Also on hand, will be copies of the artist’s book, Dark Impressions: The Art of Philip Hitchcock (Ellis Publications, 10/2000;$40). Beautifully photographed by the artist, it represents a range of his erotic lifecast imagery and light sculptures in nearly 100 pictures. It also features a "how to" sequence, written by Hitchcock.

Hitchcockwas commissioned by FOX TV to create over 20 full bodysculptures for its hit show The Swan. The WWF (World Wrestling Federation) retained his services to create bodycast sculptures of its wrestling "superstars" for the 2002 "Wrestlemania" Fan access show held at Toronto's Skydome. OUT Magazine named him among the "OUT 100" for 2001. And Hitchcock was the recipient of the prestigious Broadcast Design Award in 1997 for his work on MGM/UA Television's The Outer Limits.

On television, Hitchcock's work can be seen on The Bold & the Beautiful (CBS), and appears in such films as Soap Dish, Femme Fatale, Nemesis, and The Big Tease. He has been seen on Playboy Television's Sexcetera, E! Entertainment Television, Extra!, TV Guide Television in Canada, and Liebe Sunde on Germany's Pro Sieben network.
