David Ambrose is a Welshman who fell in love with Greece. After studying art in Wales and in Florence, David discovered the special quality of light in the Greek Islands and made the interplay of sunlight and reflections off the sea the mainstay of his artistic production in the early part of his career.

Widening his range more recently, he has taken the impressionistic play of light and applied it to other subjects and other places. His abiding interest is the interplay of light and in the impressions it creates on his eye.

He says he is not interested in the strict representation of what he sees, but in his spontaneous reactions. David's work is in many collections worldwide.
