Asian Male Nudes / Nus Masculins Asiatiques currently
showing at the Au Bonheur du Jour Gallery in Paris through May 26,
2012, is a first ever Asian male nude exhibition to be presented anywhere
in Europe.
This breakthrough exhibition of Photos by BIRON from
1994 to 2005 features 18 Asian male models from China, Indonesia,
Vietnam, India, Japan, Thailand and the Philippines.
BIRON began taking photos as a teenager in the mid 1950s
and won awards for his efforts as early as 1961. Based in San Francisco
since 1978, BIRON's photography has, from the early 1990s, focused
on youthful multicultural males occasionally professional models,
but more often amateurs who live or vist his adoptive city.
BIRON's male photography has been exhibited at the Scott
Nichols Gallery in San Francisco and the Kinsey's Institute's 2011
Juried Art Show in Bloomington, Indiana. His work has been published
in 10 photography books and several magazines globally including Blue
(Australia), Têtu (France), XY (USA) and OG
(Singapore).
BIRON has had a strong web presence since 1997 where
his multicultural images have been featured globally on countless
sites and blogs including YVY Mag (Brazil), OHLALA Mag,
A cause des Garçons (France), YVY, PERROS
(Spain), MOC Blog (USA), and The Beauty Hunter (London).
The Au Bonheur du Jour Gallery (www.curiositel.com/aubonheurdujour/)
which has represented BIRON for the past seven years, is located at
11, rue Chabannais, in the heart of Paris, a short walk from the Opera
