Gena Ivanov is Russian and was born in 1968 in Vladimir into a military family. He began to draw at school but at that time was more interested in modern dance and this took most of his energies. After school he went into the army where he served for two years as a military artist.

By now, art had firmly entered his soul. He then went to art school and studied at Bobruisk Art College where he graduated with distinction. He took a residency in the museum in Bobruisk and later set up his own studio, painting pictures and also working as an interior designer.

In 2000 he was elected to the Artist’s Union in Belarus. In 2004, Gena came to work in England and now has a studio and gallery in Norwich. In 2011 he graduated from Norwich University College of the Art with an MA in Fine Art.

Gena has exhibited at the Adonis Art Gallery for many years and his paintings are in collections all over the world.
