appears in
TATE ETC.

Europe’s
largest art magazine, Tate Etc., asked to use Tom’s “Fuck
the World” image for an article on Paradise written by Lisa Lieberman.
"Whether
“divine decadence” or political engagement, modern dance
at the Judson Church Theater or Saturday Night Fever (1977),
Tom of Finland’s superstuds-in-leather, Gordon Parks Jr’s
Super Fly (1972) or Russ Meyer’s Supervixens
(1975) – à chacun son paradis (to each his own paradise)."

| The
Art Of George Quaintance

Taschen GMBH is proud to
announce the release of The Art of George Quaintance. Quaintance
was an artist ahead of his time, a man who forged several successful
careers, yet never enjoyed mainstream fame.
But Quaintance, who died
in 1957, lived and worked during an era when homosexuality was repressed,
when his joyful paintings and physique photos could not depict a penis.
In an era before Stonewall, the sexual revolution, gay rights and
the AIDS crisis, Quaintance and his high-camp erotic art existed in
a demi-monde of borderline legality.

| The
Art of Man

The Foundation thanks the
editor of The Art of Man, artist E. Gibbons, for sending
us a gift of his first two issues. Gibbons has shown at ToFF’s
art fairs in NY.
The Art of Man
is a fine arts quarterly journal that seeks to bring balance to a
genre of art that overwhelmingly favors the female figure. Every edition
includes an historical reference, gallery interview, tips on collecting
fine art, a directory of nearly 150 artists, and in-depth interviews
with 5 artists that are courageous enough to focus on the male figure
as a significant portion of their portfolio.

| Alpern
Studio
presents:
Colorado Gay Men's Erotic Figure Drawing Group

We are once monthly gay
men's erotic figure drawing group. Artists and models gather in an
private setting to produce art that is more edgy than typical art
groups explore.
The nude male
models are posed in sexually provocative ways and they are chosen
for their beauty or their sexual energy and not for their experience
as models. In general the poses are held for about twenty minutes
with appropriate breaks.
Open to sketchers
of ALL skill levels including beginners, hobbyists and fine artists.
We currently meet on the second Tuesday of each month in Boulder and
the fourth Tuesday in Denver.
