LA ART BOOK FAIR – 31st January

A unique event for artists’ books, art catalogs, monographs, periodicals, and zines presented by 220 international presses, booksellers, antiquarians, artists, and independent publishers from twenty-one countries.

 Projects include an Homage to Mike Kelley presented by Gagosian and
Bedwetter and Beyond, a survey of the artist books and zines of
Los Angeles-based artist Christopher Russell.

The LA ART BOOK FAIR is the companion fair to the NY ART BOOK FAIR, held every fall in New York. Over 20,000 artists, book buyers, collectors, dealers, curators, independent publishers, and other enthusiasts attended the NY ART BOOK FAIR in 2012.

The exhibition conceptually sequences works based on themes such as power, sexuality, history and the Queer gaze and will represent the Queer Caucus for Art’s annual exhibition held in conjunction with the College Art Association (CAA) conference.

The sainting of Sean Platter and Pup Don Mike – 10th February – LA

Please join the Los Angeles Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence as they bestow their highest honor on Sean Platter and Pup Don Mike . The Sisters grant Sainthood to individuals who have gone above and beyond in their dedication to the LGBT, HIV/AIDS, Kink, and sex positive communities and/or have greatly assisted the LA Sisters in their mission to expiate stigmatic guilt and promulgate universal joy.

Please be sure to attend and show Sean and Pup Don how much you appreciate their gracious hearts, their dirty minds, and everything they’ve done to support the Sisters and you!

The canonization ceremony will be taking place at the Sister Mardi Gras 2013 event at the Eagle LA. The Sisters will be raising funds for various cancer charities in memory of the late Sister Bubbles Jewceefruit. A donation will be requested at the door but no one will be turned away due to lack of funds.
