Membership renewal reminders are going out. Check your ToFF card, is it time for you to re-up?

It is also a great time to join TOM’s Foundation, or make a tax-deductible donation of any amount.

2013 is proving to be a very productive year for Tom of Finland Foundation (ToFF) and we owe it to your passionate support. Over the years we remain the foremost erotic art organization across the globe. Without your contribution we could not make the future of the Foundation possible and appreciate your continued support.

Your membership allows us to maintain a commitment to protect, preserve, and promote erotic art.

As a Member you are helping us promote both emerging and established erotic artists. Tom of Finland’s work continues to be seen coast to coast in the U.S. and across the globe (100,000 saw it at ICA, London this year!) TOM’s work can be seen in Lille, France and London, UK this month and we are very excited about Bob Mizer & Tom of Finland presented at The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, November 2 – January 26. We are working on an exhibition schedule that includes Finland, Scandinavia and northern Europe. Our 10th Tom of Finland Emerging Artist Competition opens in January.

ToFF is always supplying publishers, writers and producers with high quality images, accurate information about TOM and frequently presents new artists for different projects. We are thrilled that Helsinki-filmi, the innovative, award-winning, Finnish production company, has asked us to do a feature about Tom of Finland. Helsinki-filmi has demonstrated enormous respect for the artist who started the Foundation that bears his name. [Not to be confused with another Finnish film company that wants to make a film without TOM’s stamp of approval.]

Tom was a founder of MSC Finland, “TOM’s Club” for leather, rubber and biker guys. Your membership also supports Leather fraternities and contests, both local and international and allows us to have a presence at Pride celebrations. We have also initiated an organization, Tom of Finland Seura, created to protect and promote the art and legacy of Touko Laaksonen (TOM) within his home country.

We would like to remind you that the Los Angeles home and headquarters of ToFF, “TOM House”, is 100 years old. Your contribution will help us maintain this cultural monument as we continue to expand our educational efforts to include an artist exchange program. As you can imagine, your support goes a long way and we hope we can count on you to renew your membership or upgrade to another membership level. Remember, your contributions are considered tax-deductible. We are grateful for your help in the past and we look forward to growing the relationship in our exhilarating future!

TOM changed the world – let’s keep keeping it a better place.

‘Tom of Finland’ Helmer Dome Karukoski Signs With ICM Partners

"Heart Of A Lion" Portraits - 2013 Toronto International Film FestivalEXCLUSIVE: It was a good Toronto Film Festival for Finnish helmer Dome Karukoski. His Heart Of A Lion premiered earlier this month at the fest, and during the run of the event he was tapped to make his English-language debut on Tom of Finland.

All of that action got the major agencies interested, and he just inked with ICM Partners. Heart Of A Lion, written by Aleksi Bardy, centers on the head of a gang of racist skinheads who finds himself questioning his personal prejudices and values after falling for a waitress whose son is of African descent. It bows next month in Karukoski’s native Finland. Tom of Finland is the biopic of Finnish artist Touko Laaksonen, who revolutionized the image of gay men, paved the way for greater tolerance and openness, and influenced designers like Tom Ford and Jean Paul Gaultier.

Casting on the Helsinki-filmi pic is expected to be announced early next year. Among the helmer’s other credits is Lapland Odyssey, a comedy that topped the Finnish box office in 2010 and won Best Film, Best Direction, Best Script and The People’s Choice Award at the 2011 Jussi Film Awards (Finland’s equivalent of the Oscars). Karukoski continues to be repped by Laura Munsterhjelm at Actors In Scandinavia and Richard Cook at The Lisa Richards Agency in the UK.
